Reports Week of 3/18/18

Holdover stripers are providing action in the lower Housatonic River downstream of the Derby Dam and are available to both wading and boat anglers. Deep sinking lines and a slow retrieve with heavily weighted Clousers can work well in these cold conditions. They should be showing up in the mouth of the Connecticut River later in April and further upriver (Hartford to Holyoke Mass) as well as recently improved shad run in May.

Quality holdover trout as well as recently stocked fish are being caught in the TMA sections of the Farmington.
